Towards the end of 1987 the Yorkshire Golden Retriever Club was officially recognised by the Kennel Club with a founding membership of over 200.

On 3rd January 1988 we held our first Open show with an entry of 260 which was Judged by Sandra Hudspith.

The Club holds two shows a year, the Championship show in early April and the Open show in early October. The Club runs Working tests each year & also Gundog Training classes for beginners and advanced, Juniors are very welcome.

The objectives of the club are to benefit the welfare of Golden Retrievers and further educate members & the general public in the management, training, showing, working and all aspects of the Golden Retriever.
