There is no information available about the safety of this medicine during pregnancy. It is not recommended for use during pregnancy, unless considered essential by your doctor. Seek medical advice from your doctor before using this medicine if you are pregnant. In children ingestion of more than 400mg/kg may cause symptoms. In adults the dose response effect is less clear cut. The half-life in overdose is 1.5-3 hours. Don't cover the area being treated with airtight or waterproof dressings, as these will increase the absorption of ibuprofen into the body and may increase the risk of side effects. This lotion is unlikely to significantly affect other medicines when applied to unbroken skin. However, the manufacturer recommends that people taking warfarin should get advice from their doctor or pharmacist before using this lotion, as if enough salicylate is absorbed through the skin it could potentially enhance the anti-blood-clotting effect of warfarin.

Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age should sprinkle a few drops of lotion into the hand or onto some cotton wool and then smooth or massage this gently into the painful area. Repeat after 10 to 15 minutes if needed. When convenient, apply the lotion after a warm bath. Patients who have previously shown hypersensitivity reactions (e.g. asthma, rhinitis, angioedema, or urticaria) in response to aspirin or other NSAIDs. Don't use Radian B ibuprofen gel for longer than a few weeks unless otherwise advised by your doctor. The symptoms of overdose are presented in individuals that consumed more than 99 mg/kg. Most common symptoms of overdose are abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, lethargy, vertigo, drowsiness (somnolence), dizziness and insomnia. Other symptoms of overdose include headache, loss of consciousness, tinnitus, CNS depression, convulsions and seizures. May rarely cause metabolic acidosis, abnormal hepatic function, hyperkalemia, renal failure, dyspnea, respiratory depression, coma, acute renal failure, and apnea (primarily in very young pediatric patients). Pain relief is attributed to peripheral affected regions and central nervous system effects in the pain transmission mediated by the dorsal horn and higher spinothalamic tract. Some reports have tried to link the pain regulation with a possible enhancement on the synthesis of endogenous cannabinoids and action on the NMDA receptors. The effect on pain has been shown to be related to the cortically evoked potentials.
