It’s gruesome in places, again channel Killing Eve but because it’s so well paced you keep reading on partly in horror and partly in admiration- lol! Kitty could've been a great character, but the inconsistencies in her behaviour and logic made her hella annoying. I especially loved the slow unveiling of her traumatic backstory, as these add depth to her character and make her motives clear. While the killing spree may have been unrealistic and far-fetched, this kept the story light and entertaining, which I enjoyed. As How To Kill Men and Get Away With It ticks along, Brent threads a very tight needle between the seriousness of the above-mentioned themes and insanely dark humor, poignantly.

Sounds like a really interesting and funny concept, to be honest – being famous online but killing terrible men offline. The despatch of three horribles on a yacht at sea off the Greek coast leaves a few too many clues as to the perp, IMHO. Never thought I’d get such enjoyment from reading books but here I am feeling like a brand new woman!

One night on her way home from a nightclub she was followed by a man who had been pestering her at the club. For most of the story, Brent takes the reader on an in-depth journey of Kitty and her escapades and excursions from one murder scene after another.

A "proper" unreliable narrator is one who truly believes what they're saying is reality due to a mental illness or maybe they're constantly coked out and don't know their ass from their mouth. Who doesn't like the idea of a bad ass vigilante woman taking the law into her own hands and making despicable men pay for their sins. She thought she would be caught, but when it appears that she has gotten away with it – the thrill, the glow she feels in her body is exhilarating and that’s where the addiction begins for Kitty. Die Morde fallen Kitty oft zu, ohne dass sie viel dazu beiträgt, und es geht so viel schief, dass es ein Wunder ist, wie sie damit durchkommt.Katy Brent has created a brilliant book that acts as social commentary and touches on issues that are a genuine downfall within our society. The book is quite graphic and I’ll admit that it’s not what I usually sign up for when committing time to curl up and escape. I’m doing a total brain cleanse, saying adios and never looking back on the time I spent with Kitty Collins.

It's a great summery read for the morbidly inclined and I'm excited to check out the author's follow-up.

It is written by Katy Brent, author and award-winning journalist, and tells the story (from the perspective of our often accidental murderess) of the trials and tribulations of a troubled, privileged ‘Influencer’ left to wallow in a luxurious penthouse by her distant mother, whilst trying to deal with her self-proclaimed ‘daddy issues’.
